There is a country that had been beset by political storms and severe cultural duress for the past years of the world’s existence. This country had been marked by communist activity that had rendered tourism nearly improbable in this country. And yet, despite this turmoil, this country would be very ideal for family vacations.

When the phrase “family vacations” is mentioned, Burma doesn’t seem to be a consideration for this phrase. With families wanting to go on a hassle-free vacation, Burma’s current political situation may not appeal to your wife.

The Burmese landscape is a breathtaking vista of green mountains, rolling fields and enchanting temple ruins. If you want a good reason to give your children a lecture on cultures apart from the one they grew up in, Burma is a great place to start.

Burma is ideal for families because of the natural wonders that it has. Tigers still thrive in the Burmese wild, as well as rhinoceros, elephants, and even leopards. , are common in Burma. Exotic animals are also common in the wild, like gibbons and other monkey species, as well as flying foxes and tapirs. Rare and exotic birds also abound, and Burma boasts of 800 species. Parrots, herons, pheasants, paddybirds, crows, and even peafowl (peacocks and peahens) still thrive in Burma.

The wonder of Burmese family vacations would lie in the fact that you would be beholding these flora and fauna not in cages, aquariums, or well-tended parks. You and your children would be taking in the sights and sounds of Burma, as it is, in the wild, untended, free to grow the way it should.

The major downside to Burmese vacations would be the government. There are certain customs that are deemed unethical in the majority of the nations in the world, but in Burma, it seems almost necessary to commit bribery. Because of the restrictive regulations that the Burmese government imposes, a tourist there is not fully free.

Thanks to changes in the government and the laws they enforce, Burma is a freer country. It may not be as free as in America, or in other democratic nations, but the government has certainly laxed up to allow family vacations for you and your children. Live on the wild side!
