Homeschooling – The best Way To Go?

by Jeff Safin

Every kid goes to some kind of school, whether it’s private, or public, or a boarding school. Whatever type of school it is, the purpose of going to school is to learn, in whatever environment is best for you. So what if your child’s best environment is right in your own living room?

There is an answer to this problem and the answer is homeschooling. A lot of parents like the idea of homeschooling but worry about whether or not it will affect their kid’s social skills. They also worry about whether or not they will be able to get on with their kids for such a long period of time each day.

If home schooling is done correctly, both these issues should not be a problem. Lots of people choose to homeschool their children every day and the truth is there are a lot of advantages to doing so.

So what are the reasons for you to start homeschooling your children?

There are literally loads and loads of reasons to homeschool your children. For a start you will be able to live closer as a family with your children spending more time with you.

Parents also argue that at home, they get to choose the curriculum. The advantages of this are that they are not forced to make their children finish the seemingly pointless “busy work” that is often sent home as homework.

Education customized to your child’s learning capabilities. This is a big one, children are often held back at school because they are being taught in a way that does not suit the way their brain learns, with homeschooling your child can have a very big advantage just with this alone.

You won’t have to constantly test the progress of your child if you don’t feel that the pressure it puts him or her under is healthy.

There are also many social benefits of home school as well. For example peer pressure is usually reduced because there are fewer children pressuring your child to dress a certain way, listen to a certain type of music, or think a certain way.

Not being forced to interact with the same class mates; you will find that your children will interact with other children who actually share more of your childrens likes and dislikes; this will increase the chances of your child not getting in with the wrong kind of people dramatically.
